Gwen Stefani's skills as a coach on NBC's "The Voice"
have yet to be put to the test, but that's not the case with her other
"jobs," which include mother, fashion designer and recording artist.
Stefani seems to have the golden touch in everything she does, but that
touch doesn't come without a lot of hard work, sacrifice and effort.
At a luncheon held by "The Voice," Stefani told the The Daily News, "If nobody was looking, I would be the same. I love clothes, I always have. I've always loved getting made up. I don't even like going out, I like getting ready to go out."
As a mother of three boys, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, Stefani may not have the time she used to in order to be ready for a big event. But with a lot of balance and assistance from husband, singer Gavin Rossdale, Stefani has been able to maintain a sense of self during a time when a busy mother could lose that important part of what makes her unique.
"The last three years were really hard. My oldest turned five, and he's an incredibly sensitive person. I had to do a lot of work. In a way it was really lucky I was home during that time, because he really needed me during that time period," she said.
Sounding just like any other busy mother looking to juggle multiple projects at once, the singer/television personality revealed, "One thing I've learned is not so much to worry about the future but live in the moment. It really does help with the stress."
As one of two new judges on NBC's "The Voice," (the other being Pharrell) Stefani is enjoying her time being completely focused on her first love, music. She revealed in an interview with MTV that, "Right now I'm really all about the music. I feel like I've spent the last year really focused on fashion. I'm really thinking about music a lot. I'm going to be writing and also seeing what comes along my way. I've been recording things."
Stefani currently balances three fashion lines, DWP (Design With Purpose), L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers. She also has a partnership with OPI and active apparel line Burton.
